SEND Participation Team
The Engagement and Participation team for Somerset County Council was put in place to help children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities get their voice heard.
The team is made up of an Engagement and Participation officer and Young People’s Champions who themselves have special educational needs and or a disability.
The team asks lots of different young people what they think in many different ways. They visit existing groups of young people across the county in schools, colleges and other groups.
The team also hosts a young person’s forum named “the Unstoppables” who meet once a month in either Yeovil or Taunton, this group is for young people aged between 13 and 25.
The team asks young people what they think on a wide range of different issues. They then share these views and opinions with lots of different decision-makers and practitioners within Somerset County Council and beyond to improve services on offer locally in Somerset.
The team also consult and share information through the Send Participation Team Facebook page

Special educational needs and disabilites information
All early years providers should make their policy and provision for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) available on their website. This is published in the providers SEN information report. You can find this providers SEN information report here.
If you cannot find what you are looking for or you have questions around the providers SEN provision you should contact the provider directly.
