School nurses provide confidential advice, care and treatment to children and young people working with parents and carers within schools and other community settings.

School nurses:

  • Promote public health and safeguard children from harm
  • Annual health assessment for Children Looked After
  • Promote healthy lifestyles and improve health outcomes. Deliver national public health programmes
  • Provide school based health clinics
  • Work with young people who have Special Medical needs
