Community equipment is a range of products designed to help people stay active, comfortable and independent in their own home, as well as safe in the community.
Equipment ranges from simple items, such as walking sticks, crutches and walking frames to aid mobility, to complex equipment like beds, hoists and pressure care equipment.
All schools, childcare and SEND providers must make their policy and provision for children with
Special Educational Needs (SEN) available on their website. This is usually published in the
provider's SEN information report. This link takes you to where you can find this provider's
SEN information report.
If you cannot find what you are looking for or you have questions about the provider's SEN
provision, you should contact the provider directly.
We usually hold some information about a provider's policy and provision and you can find what
we do hold here.
As the equipment is provided by your local authority or NHS, you will need to be assessed by a local therapist or clinician to find out if you are eligible.
To arrange an assessment contact your local community equipment service or your local service centre who will help you to get in touch.
