Escape Support Group

  • Type of SEND provision:

Description

We organise activities and days out for children who have individual needs, or disabilities, and their families, offering a variety of fun and inclusive opportunities, enabling the participation in events that may otherwise be inaccessible. Transport is provided (including wheelchair accessible), and activities are offered at a subsidised rate to ensure affordability for all.

We organise weekly day trips during the school holidays (with transport included – wheelchair accessible as required).

The Hub Club, sponsored by Children In Need, is a free monthly group held on Saturdays from 3.30pm to 5.30pm, and provides fun activities for all the family to join in.

Annual short breaks for the whole family are a favourite. These range from a couple of nights away, up to a week!

We recognise that parents and carers need a break, so days and nights out, overnight stays and theatre trips are organised specifically for them.

Weekly swimming opportunities with private hire of a local pool are also on the calendar.

Updates are distributed through regular newletters, and a “What’s On” guide packed with information.

The charity is committee-led, members are fellow parents of young people who have a disability. All are fully DBS checked.

We are supported by the Short Breaks Team and Children in Need.

Special educational needs and disabilites information

All schools, childcare and SEND providers must make their policy and provision for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) available on their website. This is usually published in the provider's SEN information report. This link takes you to where you can find this provider's SEN information report.

If you cannot find what you are looking for or you have questions about the provider's SEN provision, you should contact the provider directly.

We usually hold some information about a provider's policy and provision and you can find what we do hold here.
