Penrose School, Albert Street, Bridgwater. TA6 7ET
We are a support group based in Bridgwater for the parents and carers of children and young people with special needs and disabilities.
This is a chance for parents to share information and experiences over coffee and biscuits. If you have only just found out that your child has special needs or if you have been living with a diagnosis for years, it is always good to talk to others in your situation and to feel that you are not alone.
It can be extremely difficult coming to terms with your child’s extra needs and a lot of parents have to deal with the same situations, the same types of professionals, the same day to day struggles whatever your child’s situation may be. We all need to feel that there is someone who understands, and our group of parents are always there to lend an ear.
We sometimes invite various professionals to come and attend our mornings, both to meet parents informally and to discuss issues of general interest.
All schools, childcare and SEND providers must make their policy and provision for children with
Special Educational Needs (SEN) available on their website. This is usually published in the
provider's SEN information report. This link takes you to where you can find this provider's
SEN information report.
If you cannot find what you are looking for or you have questions about the provider's SEN
provision, you should contact the provider directly.
We usually hold some information about a provider's policy and provision and you can find what
we do hold here.
Don’t worry if your child has not been given a firm diagnosis, we welcome all families, diagnosed or not.
We’re very informal and friendly, so just pop in!
If you are coming for the first time, please feel free to bring a friend, a support worker or one of your child’s grandparents with you. All are welcome!
We meet on the second Wednesday of every month (term time only) from 10am to 12 noon.
