A range of affordable activities are on offer for children, young people and their families over the summer holidays.

In it you’ll find seven pages bursting with ideas of things to do, including:

  • Monday 26 July – a Community Inclusion Activity Team ‘Young Person’s Day’ for those aged 8-18 at Somerset charity WilderWoods, a private two-acre woodland in Drayton Woods near Langport. Woodland activities, crafts, den building, campfire cooking and exploratory trails, including wheelchair accessible pathways, are available. The session lasts from 10am until 2pm and costs £10 each. Carers go free.
  • Thursday 29 July – a Community Inclusion Activity Team ‘Young Person’s Day’ for those aged 8-18 at Crealy Adventure Park, the biggest family theme park in Devon. The session lasts from 10am until 3pm and costs £15 each. Carers go free.
  • For children with SEND and their siblings aged between 8-12 and 13-18, Somerset Activity & Sports Partnership (SASP) is running a series of inclusive outdoor activities in Taunton. Take part in kayaking, paddle boarding, orienteering and axe throwing! The cost is £5 per person.
  • Tuesday 10, Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 August – the new Polden Bower SEND school in Bridgwater is running ‘Happy, Healthy, Holidays Somerset’, a programme of enrichment, sport and healthy eating activities. Lunch and snacks provided. Sessions run between 10am and 2pm and cost £7.50 each for children with SEND and their siblings aged 4-11. There is no charge for those receiving free school meals.
  • A variety of indoor and outdoor activities including arts and crafts, cookery, Wii and sports will take in Street. Sessions run between 9am and 3pm every day of the school holidays and cost £21 per week for those aged 4-13 and £24 per week for those aged 14-18.

For those staying home during the upcoming school holiday, a range of summer postal activity packs and online ‘virtual’ activities are available.
