Railway Children Pre-School @ Crowcombe School

  • Type of childcare: Playgroup or Pre-School

Description

Railway Children Pre-School is a wonderful setting which operated from the Crowcombe School hall 5 days per week during term time. We make the most of the school grounds and have part of our sessions out in the field, in the forest school area and on the play equipment. The Pre-School embraces the school’s Healthy Schools ethos and snack times involve mainly fruit and milk, although a range of foods will be tried at this time to encourage new experiences. Being located in Crowcombe School the teachers are able to get to know the children in the Pre-School setting so once the children visit them in the classrooms they already have a trusting relationship. All new children starting with us are monitored to assess their needs, should this be either for speech and language, physical or behavioural issues. Mrs Katy Davis is the Pre-School Special educational needs and disability co-ordinator (SEND), but all staff have had training in this area and as part of the school the school co-ordinator is always available for advice. Any concerns will be discussed with you the parent , then if you agree we ask the Early Years Area SENCo office to observe your child and then get the appropriate professionals involved. Nothing will be done without the parents consent. Then staff, parents and professionals all work as a team to get the best outcome for the child.

Special educational needs and disabilites information

All schools, childcare and SEND providers must make their policy and provision for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) available on their website. This is usually published in the provider's SEN information report. This link takes you to where you can find this provider's SEN information report.

If you cannot find what you are looking for or you have questions about the provider's SEN provision, you should contact the provider directly.

We usually hold some information about a provider's policy and provision and you can find what we do hold here.
